The PE GenieFluor 594 Anti-Mouse CD71 Antibody (R17-217-1-3-TIB-219) from Assay Genie is a highly specific antibody designed for the detection of CD71, also known as the transferrin receptor, in mouse samples. This antibody, validated for use in flow cytometry applications, binds specifically to CD71, enabling accurate detection and analysis in various cell types.CD71 is a cell surface receptor involved in the uptake of iron-bound transferrin, playing a crucial role in iron homeostasis and cell proliferation. Its overexpression is often associated with increased iron demand in actively proliferating cells, making it a valuable marker in cancer research and studies on cellular proliferation.
By targeting CD71 in mouse samples, researchers can gain insights into iron metabolism, cell proliferation, and potential therapeutic targets in cancer and other diseases. With its high specificity and sensitivity, the PE GenieFluor 594 Anti-Mouse CD71 Antibody is an essential tool for elucidating the role of CD71 in various biological processes.

Background:
CD71 is a 95 kD type II heterodimeric transmembrane glycoprotein that is also known as T9 and transferrin receptor. CD71 is expressed on proliferating cells, reticulocytes, and erythroid precursors. Its expression is very low on resting leukocytes. CD71 plays a role in the control of cellular proliferation by facilitating the uptake of iron via ferrotransferrin binding and the recycling of apotransferrin to the cell surface.
