The Anti-Human CD58 Antibody (TS2/9.1) offered by AssayGenie is a highly specific tool for research involving the detection and analysis of CD58, a cell surface glycoprotein involved in immune responses. This monoclonal antibody, recognized as GenieFluor 594, is optimized for use in applications such as flow cytometry and immunofluorescence, providing reliable and accurate results in various cell types.CD58, also known as LFA-3, plays a crucial role in T cell adhesion and activation by interacting with its ligands CD2 and CD11a/CD18. Understanding the expression and function of CD58 is essential for studying immune cell interactions, such as T cell activation, migration, and formation of immunological synapses.
Furthermore, aberrant CD58 expression has been linked to autoimmune diseases and inflammatory conditions, highlighting its significance as a potential therapeutic target.By using the Anti-Human CD58 Antibody (TS2/9.1), researchers can gain insights into the role of CD58 in immune regulation, inflammation, and diseases associated with immune dysregulation. Whether investigating immune cell dynamics or exploring novel therapeutic strategies, this antibody provides a valuable tool for advancing knowledge in immunology and related fields.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD58, also known as lymphocyte function-associated antigen 3 (LFA-3) is a 45-70 kD cell surface protein that is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Alternative splicing of CD58 gives rise to transmembrane and glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored forms on cell surface. CD58 is expressed on both hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells including B cells, T cells, monocytes, erythrocytes, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, and fibroblasts. High levels are observed on memory T cells and dendritic cells. CD58 expressed on antigen presenting cells and target cells enhances T cell recognition via the binding of it's cognate ligand, CD2, on the T cell surface.
