The PE/Cy5 Anti-Human CD21 Antibody (BU32) offered by Assay Genie is a valuable tool for researchers studying the CD21 cell surface protein. CD21, also known as complement receptor 2 (CR2), is involved in immune cell activation and plays a crucial role in the adaptive immune response. This antibody, conjugated with PE/Cy5, allows for the detection and analysis of CD21 expression in human samples using flow cytometry techniques. With high specificity and sensitivity, the BU32 antibody is ideal for investigating the role of CD21 in various immune processes such as B cell activation, antigen presentation, and immune complex clearance.
Its validated performance ensures reliable results and reproducibility in experimental settings. Researchers in immunology, virology, and infectious disease fields will find this antibody useful for elucidating the function of CD21 in health and disease contexts.By using the PE/Cy5 Anti-Human CD21 Antibody (BU32) from Assay Genie, researchers can deepen their understanding of CD21 biology and potentially uncover new insights into immune responses and therapeutic strategies targeting CD21-related pathways.

Background:
CD21 is a 145 kD transmembrane protein also known as complement C3d receptor (C3dR), complement receptor 2 (CR2), and Epstein-Barr virus receptor. CD21 is expressed on B cells, follicular dendritic cells, subsets of normal thymocytes and T cells, and some epithelial cells. CD21 is the receptor used by Epstein-Barr virus to infect B cells and is also the complement receptor for C3d. CD21 has also been shown to interact with a number of proteins, including CD23, CD19, annexin VI, CD81, iC3b, complement receptor 1 (CR1, CD35), and interferon-alpha 1 (IFN-α1).
