The PE-Cyanine5.5 Anti-Human CD56 Antibody (B-A19) is a cutting-edge tool designed for researchers investigating the CD56 antigen, a protein marker commonly found on natural killer cells and neural cell adhesion molecules. This antibody, specifically developed for use in flow cytometry applications, is highly specific and sensitive in detecting human CD56 in various biological samples.CD56, also known as neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM), plays a pivotal role in cell adhesion, migration, and signal transduction in both immune and neuronal cells. Its expression on natural killer cells is essential for their cytotoxic activity against infected or malignant cells. By targeting CD56, researchers can explore its involvement in immune responses, cancer progression, and neurological disorders, offering valuable insights into disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
The PE-Cyanine5.5 Anti-Human CD56 Antibody (B-A19) provides a powerful tool for the precise identification and quantification of CD56-expressing cells in complex cell populations. With its high specificity and reliable performance, this antibody is ideal for immunophenotyping studies, biomarker discovery, and exploring the role of CD56 in diverse biological processes. Upgrade your research capabilities with this innovative reagent and unlock new possibilities in immunology, oncology, and neuroscience research.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD56 is a single transmembrane glycoprotein also known as NCAM (neural cell adhesion molecule), Leu-19, or NKH1. It is a member of the Ig superfamily. The 140 kD isoform is expressed on NK and NKT cells. CD56 is also expressed in the brain (cerebellum and cortex) and at neuromuscular junctions. Certain large granular lymphocyte (LGL) leukemias, small-cell lung carcinomas, neuronal derived tumors, myelomas, and myeloid leukemias also express CD56. CD56 plays a role in homophilic and heterophilic adhesion via binding to itself or heparan sulfate.
