The PE Anti-Rat CD161 Antibody (3.2.3) offered by Assay Genie is a valuable tool for researchers studying rat models in the field of immunology and immunotherapy. CD161, also known as NKR-P1A, is a C-type lectin-like receptor expressed on natural killer cells and subsets of T cells, playing a role in immune regulation and response to pathogens. This monoclonal antibody, designated 3.2.3, is specifically designed to target and detect CD161 in rat samples, providing a reliable and sensitive method for identifying and analyzing CD161-expressing cells. With a phycoerythrin (PE) conjugate, this antibody is suitable for flow cytometry applications, allowing for precise quantification and characterization of CD161-positive cell populations.By facilitating the investigation of CD161 expression and function in rat immune cells, this antibody supports research endeavors aimed at understanding the role of CD161 in immune responses, inflammatory processes, and immune-related diseases.
Researchers can leverage this tool to uncover insights into immune cell interactions, signaling pathways, and the development of potential therapeutic strategies targeting CD161-mediated immune modulation in various disease contexts. For researchers focused on unraveling the complexities of immune regulation and cell-mediated immunity in rat models, the PE Anti-Rat CD161 Antibody (3.2.3) from Assay Genie is a valuable reagent that contributes to the advancement of immunological research and preclinical studies.

Background:
CD161 is a 30 kD type II transmembrane C-type lectin, expressed as a homodimer. Rat NKR-P1 receptors are primarily expressed on NK cells, a subset of T cells, dendritic cells, and activated monocytes. There are three different types of NKR-P in rat, namely NKR-P1a, NKR-P1b, and NKR-P1c. NKR-P1a does not contain an ITIM structure and is an activating receptor, while NKR-P1b contains an ITIM and displays inhibitory function. LLT-1 (ligand lectin like transcript 1) is the ligand, while KLR (killer cell lectin like) functions as a receptor.
