The Anti-Mouse CD106 Antibody (M/K-2.7) offered by Assay Genie is a vital tool for researchers studying CD106, also known as vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1). This monoclonal antibody, developed for mouse samples, is specifically designed for use in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry applications. It targets the CD106 protein, facilitating the precise detection and analysis of VCAM-1 expression in various tissues and cell types.CD106, a cell surface adhesion molecule, plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium. Its involvement in inflammatory processes and immune cell recruitment makes it a key player in diseases such as atherosclerosis, autoimmune disorders, and cancer.
Understanding the expression and function of CD106 is essential for unraveling its role in these pathological conditions and exploring its potential as a therapeutic target. The Anti-Mouse CD106 Antibody (M/K-2.7) from Assay Genie provides researchers with a reliable tool to investigate the intricate mechanisms involving CD106 in immune cell adhesion and inflammation. With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody enables precise and accurate analysis of VCAM-1 expression, making it an indispensable resource for studies in immunology, vascular biology, and disease research.

Background:
CD106 is a 110 kD glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked transmembrane protein, also known as VCAM-1 and INCAM-110. It is constitutively expressed on bone marrow stromal cells, myeloid progenitors, splenic dendritic cells, activated endothelial cells, as well as some lymphocytes. CD106 expression can be upregulated on endothelial cells by inflammatory cytokines. CD106 is involved in adhesion and acts as a counter-receptor for VLA-4 (α4/β1 integrin) and LPAM-1 (α4/β7 integrin).
