The PE Anti-Human CD56 Antibody (B-A19) offered by Assay Genie is a high-quality monoclonal antibody specifically designed for research involving CD56, a cell surface marker primarily found on natural killer cells. This antibody is conjugated with phycoerythrin (PE), a fluorescent dye commonly used in flow cytometry applications for the detection and analysis of cell surface antigens. With strong reactivity towards human CD56, this antibody is well-suited for immunophenotyping studies and flow cytometry analyses of natural killer cells in human samples. Its excellent specificity and sensitivity make it a valuable tool for researchers studying immune responses, cancer immunology, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
By targeting CD56, a key marker for natural killer cells, this antibody enables precise identification and characterization of these important immune cells, contributing to a deeper understanding of their role in immune surveillance, anti-tumor immunity, and immune-mediated diseases. With the PE Anti-Human CD56 Antibody (B-A19), researchers have a reliable tool to advance their investigations into the complex interplay between natural killer cells and various disease states.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD56 is a single transmembrane glycoprotein also known as NCAM (neural cell adhesion molecule), Leu-19, or NKH1. It is a member of the Ig superfamily. The 140 kD isoform is expressed on NK and NKT cells. CD56 is also expressed in the brain (cerebellum and cortex) and at neuromuscular junctions. Certain large granular lymphocyte (LGL) leukemias, small-cell lung carcinomas, neuronal derived tumors, myelomas, and myeloid leukemias also express CD56. CD56 plays a role in homophilic and heterophilic adhesion via binding to itself or heparan sulfate.
