The PDGF Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17434) is a powerful tool for researchers studying PDGF, a growth factor involved in cell proliferation, migration, and survival. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity specifically with human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the PDGF protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it essential for investigations in the fields of cell biology, cancer research, and tissue regeneration.
PDGF, or platelet-derived growth factor, plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including wound healing, angiogenesis, and tissue repair. Dysregulation of PDGF signaling has been linked to diseases such as cancer, fibrotic disorders, and cardiovascular conditions. Therefore, understanding the mechanisms of PDGF action is fundamental for developing targeted therapies and interventions aimed at controlling cell growth and tissue regeneration in pathological settings.

This gene encodes a member of the protein family comprised of both platelet-derived growth factors (PDGF) and vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF). The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate platelet-derived growth factor subunit A, which can homodimerize, or alternatively, heterodimerize with the related platelet-derived growth factor subunit B. These proteins bind and activate PDGF receptor tyrosine kinases, which play a role in a wide range of developmental processes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
