The PDE6A Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7915) is a valuable tool for researchers studying phosphodiesterase 6A, an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the visual signaling cascade in photoreceptor cells. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for human samples, making it an excellent choice for use in Western blot applications.Phosphodiesterase 6A is essential for the regulation of cGMP levels in photoreceptor cells, ultimately contributing to the process of phototransduction in the retina. Dysregulation of PDE6A has been linked to various eye disorders, including retinitis pigmentosa and cone-rod dystrophy.
By utilizing the PDE6A Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can investigate the expression and function of PDE6A in different cell types and gain insights into its role in visual signal transduction pathways. With its ability to specifically bind to PDE6A protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis of PDE6A levels, making it a valuable tool for studies in vision research and ophthalmology. By further understanding the mechanisms underlying PDE6A activity, researchers may uncover new therapeutic targets for the treatment of visual disorders and eye diseases.

This gene encodes the cyclic-GMP (cGMP)-specific phosphodiesterase 6A alpha subunit, expressed in cells of the retinal rod outer segment. The phosphodiesterase 6 holoenzyme is a heterotrimer composed of an alpha, beta, and two gamma subunits. cGMP is an important regulator of rod cell membrane current, and its dynamic concentration is established by phosphodiesterase 6A cGMP hydrolysis and guanylate cyclase cGMP synthesis. The protein is a subunit of a key phototransduction enzyme and participates in processes of transmission and amplification of the visual signal. Mutations in this gene have been identified as one cause of autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa.
