The PCDH11X Antibody (PAC058484) offered by AssayGenie is a polyclonal antibody designed for research involving PCDH11X, a gene associated with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability. This antibody is raised in rabbits and is highly reactive with human samples, making it a valuable tool for studying the expression and function of PCDH11X in various cell types.PCDH11X is a member of the protocadherin gene family, which encodes cell adhesion molecules involved in neuronal development and synaptic connectivity. Mutations in PCDH11X have been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders, highlighting its importance in brain development and function.
The PCDH11X Antibody enables researchers to study the role of this gene in normal brain development and in the pathogenesis of neurodevelopmental disorders.Validated for use in Western blot applications, the PCDH11X Antibody binds specifically to the PCDH11X protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in experimental settings. By understanding the expression and function of PCDH11X, researchers can gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental disorders and identify potential therapeutic targets for treatment.
IHC image of PACO58484 diluted at 1:500 and staining in paraffin-embedded human colon cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with PACO58484 at 1:166, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).

NCBI Summary:
This gene belongs to the protocadherin gene family, a subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. The encoded protein consists of an extracellular domain containing 7 cadherin repeats, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic tail that differs from those of the classical cadherins. The gene is located in a major X/Y block of homology and its Y homolog, despite divergence leading to coding region changes, is the most closely related cadherin family member. The protein is thought to play a fundamental role in cell-cell recognition essential for the segmental development and function of the central nervous system. Disruption of this gene may be associated with developmental dyslexia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
