The PCCB Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21526) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the PCCB protein, an essential enzyme involved in the breakdown of amino acids and fatty acids. This antibody, generated in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the PCCB protein, the antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for investigations in metabolism, genetic disorders, and mitochondrial diseases.PCCB plays a crucial role in maintaining metabolic balance by catalyzing the final step in the degradation of isoleucine and valine, essential amino acids, as well as long-chain fatty acids.
Dysregulation of PCCB activity can lead to severe health conditions, including metabolic disorders and organic acidemias. Understanding the function of PCCB is vital for developing potential therapies to manage these conditions and improve patient outcomes.Overall, the PCCB Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for researchers seeking to delve into the intricate mechanisms of amino acid and fatty acid metabolism, with the ultimate goal of advancing our understanding and treatment of related disorders.

Recombinant Protein corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 260-539 of human PCCB (NP_000523.2).
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the propionyl-CoA carboxylase (PCC) enzyme, which is involved in the catabolism of propionyl-CoA. PCC is a mitochondrial enzyme that probably acts as a dodecamer of six alpha subunits and six beta subunits. This gene encodes the beta subunit of PCC. Defects in this gene are a cause of propionic acidemia type II (PA-2). Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
