Description
PCBP1 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT2A10AT] (CPAB0595)
The PCBP1 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0595) is a key tool for researchers studying PCBP1, a protein involved in RNA binding and regulation. This antibody, developed from rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in various applications including Western blotting. By binding specifically to the PCBP1 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of PCBP1 in different cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in molecular biology and cancer research.PCBP1, also known as poly(rC)-binding protein 1, is a multifunctional protein involved in various cellular processes such as RNA metabolism, transcriptional regulation, and cell proliferation.
Its dysregulation has been linked to diseases such as cancer and neurological disorders, highlighting the importance of further research into its function and mechanisms of action. By studying PCBP1, researchers can gain valuable insights into disease pathways and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for various conditions.

Background: | PCBP1 is a single-stranded nucleic acid binding protein that binds preferentially to oligo dC. PCBP1 plays a role in formation of a sequence-specific alpha-globin mRNP complex which is associated with alpha-globin mRNA stability. PCBP1 along with PCBP-2 and hnRNPK corresponds to the major cellular poly(rC)-binding protein. PCBP1 and PCBP-2 also functions as translational coactivators of poliovirus RNA via a sequence-specific interaction with stem-loop IV of the IRES and promotes poliovirus RNA replication by binding to its 5'-terminal cloverleaf structure. |
Synonyms: | Poly(rC) binding protein 1, hnRNP-E1, hnRNP-X, HNRPE1, HNRPX, Alpha-CP1, Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein E1, Nucleic acid-binding protein SUB2.3, PCBP1. |
