The Park7 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB18580) is a valuable tool for research involving Park7, a protein with important functions in cell protection and oxidative stress response. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. It binds specifically to the Park7 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in neurology, Parkinson's disease, and oxidative stress research.
Park7, also known as DJ-1, is a multifunctional protein involved in protecting cells from oxidative damage and promoting cell survival. Dysregulation of Park7 has been implicated in Parkinson's disease, making it a crucial target for research into neurodegenerative disorders. Understanding the role of Park7 in cellular protection and stress response is essential for developing therapies to combat conditions associated with oxidative damage and neurodegeneration.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-189 of human DJ-1/PARK7 (NP_009193.2).
The product of this gene belongs to the peptidase C56 family of proteins. It acts as a positive regulator of androgen receptor-dependent transcription. It may also function as a redox-sensitive chaperone, as a sensor for oxidative stress, and it apparently protects neurons against oxidative stress and cell death. Defects in this gene are the cause of autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease 7. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
