The PAF-AH2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16941) is a vital tool for researchers studying PAF-AH2, a key enzyme involved in lipid metabolism and inflammatory pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it a reliable option for Western blot applications. By targeting the PAF-AH2 protein, researchers can investigate its role in various biological processes, particularly in lipid signaling and inflammatory response pathways.PAF-AH2, also known as platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase 2, plays a crucial role in cellular lipid homeostasis and inflammatory signaling cascades.
Its involvement in lipid metabolism and inflammation makes it a promising target for studying diseases like cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and inflammatory conditions. The ability to detect and analyze PAF-AH2 expression using this antibody is essential for advancing our understanding of its functions and potential therapeutic interventions in these disease contexts.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 260-350 of human PAFAH2 (NP_000428.2).
This gene encodes platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase isoform 2, a single-subunit intracellular enzyme that catalyzes the removal of the acetyl group at the SN-2 position of platelet-activating factor (identified as 1-O-alkyl-2-acetyl-sn-glyceryl-3-phosphorylcholine). However, this lipase exhibits a broader substrate specificity than simply platelet activating factor. Two other isoforms of intracellular platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase exist, and both are multi-subunit enzymes. Additionally, there is a single-subunit serum isoform of this enzyme.
