The PADI1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10145) is a valuable research tool designed for the study of peptidyl arginine deiminase type 1 (PADI1), an enzyme involved in post-translational protein modification through citrullination. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting PADI1 in human samples, making it a reliable tool for immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence experiments.PADI1 plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including gene regulation, chromatin remodeling, and immune responses. Dysregulation of PADI1 has been implicated in autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, and cancer development.
By targeting PADI1, researchers can gain insight into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for intervention. The PADI1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable addition to any research laboratory interested in exploring the role of citrullination and protein modification in disease pathology. Its high specificity and versatility make it suitable for a wide range of experimental techniques, providing valuable insights into the complex interplay between PADI1 and disease progression.

This gene encodes a member of the peptidyl arginine deiminase family of enzymes, which catalyze the post-translational deimination of proteins by converting arginine residues into citrullines in the presence of calcium ions. The family members have distinct substrate specificities and tissue-specific expression patterns. The type I enzyme is involved in the late stages of epidermal differentiation, where it deiminates filaggrin and keratin K1, which maintains hydration of the stratum corneum, and hence the cutaneous barrier function. This enzyme may also play a role in hair follicle formation. This gene exists in a cluster with four other paralogous genes.
