The PADI1/PAD1 Monoclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the PADI1 protein, which plays a key role in post-translational protein modification known as citrullination. This antibody, produced using hybridoma technology, is highly specific to human PADI1 and is validated for use in various applications including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.PADI1, also known as peptidylarginine deiminase 1, is involved in the citrullination of proteins, a process that has been implicated in autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
By targeting PADI1 with this monoclonal antibody, researchers can investigate the role of citrullination in disease processes and potentially identify new therapeutic targets. This PADI1/PAD1 Monoclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for advancing research in autoimmune diseases, inflammation, and other conditions where citrullination may play a role. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable choice for scientists looking to study the function and regulation of PADI1 in various biological contexts.

This gene encodes a member of the peptidyl arginine deiminase family of enzymes, which catalyze the post-translational deimination of proteins by converting arginine residues into citrullines in the presence of calcium ions. The family members have distinct substrate specificities and tissue-specific expression patterns. The type I enzyme is involved in the late stages of epidermal differentiation, where it deiminates filaggrin and keratin K1, which maintains hydration of the stratum corneum, and hence the cutaneous barrier function. This enzyme may also play a role in hair follicle formation. This gene exists in a cluster with four other paralogous genes.
