Description
p73 Transcription Factor Activity Assay
The p73 Transcription Factor Activity Assay is a reliable and accurate kit designed for the detection of p73 transcription factor activity in cell lysates. This assay offers high sensitivity and specificity, providing precise and reproducible results for a variety of research applications. The p73 transcription factor is an important regulator of gene expression, playing a critical role in processes such as cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and development. Dysregulation of p73 activity has been associated with various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and identifying potential therapeutic targets.
With the p73 Transcription Factor Activity Assay, researchers can confidently measure and analyze p73 activity in cellular samples, allowing for a better understanding of its function and potential implications in disease pathology. This kit is essential for any laboratory conducting research on transcriptional regulation and molecular pathways involving p73.

UniProt Protein Function: | Participates in the apoptotic response to DNA damage. Isoforms containing the transactivation domain are pro-apoptotic, isoforms lacking the domain are anti-apoptotic and block the function of p53 and transactivating p73 isoforms. May be a tumor suppressor protein. |
NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the p53 family of transcription factors involved in cellular responses to stress and development. It maps to a region on chromosome 1p36 that is frequently deleted in neuroblastoma and other tumors, and thought to contain multiple tumor suppressor genes. The demonstration that this gene is monoallelically expressed (likely from the maternal allele), supports the notion that it is a candidate gene for neuroblastoma. Many transcript variants resulting from alternative splicing and/or use of alternate promoters have been found for this gene, but the biological validity and the full-length nature of some variants have not been determined.
