The OXT Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15296) is specifically designed for research involving OXT, a peptide hormone involved in social bonding, reproduction, and stress regulation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in immunohistochemistry and ELISA applications. By binding to the OXT protein, this antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze OXT expression in various tissues and cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in neuroscience, endocrinology, and reproductive biology.OXT, also known as the "love hormone" or "bonding hormone," plays a crucial role in social behavior, maternal bonding, and stress reduction.
Its involvement in various physiological and psychological processes makes it a key molecule for investigating conditions such as autism, anxiety disorders, and reproductive disorders. Understanding the mechanism of action of OXT is essential for the development of therapies targeting social and reproductive health issues. With its high level of specificity and sensitivity, the OXT Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15296) is a valuable resource for researchers looking to explore the role of OXT in health and disease. Its versatility in various experimental techniques makes it a versatile tool for advancing our understanding of the complex functions of OXT in the body.

This gene encodes a precursor protein that is processed to produce oxytocin and neurophysin I. Oxytocin is a posterior pituitary hormone which is synthesized as an inactive precursor in the hypothalamus along with its carrier protein neurophysin I. Together with neurophysin, it is packaged into neurosecretory vesicles and transported axonally to the nerve endings in the neurohypophysis, where it is either stored or secreted into the bloodstream. The precursor seems to be activated while it is being transported along the axon to the posterior pituitary. This hormone contracts smooth muscle during parturition and lactation. It is also involved in cognition, tolerance, adaptation and complex sexual and maternal behaviour, as well as in the regulation of water excretion and cardiovascular functions.
