The OVGP1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13036) is a valuable tool for researchers studying OVGP1, a glycoprotein found in the female reproductive tract. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the OVGP1 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of OVGP1 in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in reproductive biology and fertility research.OVGP1, also known as oviduct-specific glycoprotein, plays a crucial role in sperm-egg interaction and fertilization in the female reproductive system.
Understanding the function and regulation of OVGP1 is essential for advancing our knowledge of fertility mechanisms and developing new treatments for infertility. Research on OVGP1 may also have implications for contraceptive development and reproductive health interventions. Overall, the OVGP1 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for investigating the role of OVGP1 in reproduction, providing valuable insights into fertility processes and potential therapeutic targets for reproductive disorders.

This gene encodes a large, carbohydrate-rich, epithelial glycoprotein with numerous O-glycosylation sites located within threonine, serine, and proline-rich tandem repeats. The gene is similar to members of the mucin and the glycosyl hydrolase 18 gene families. Regulation of expression may be estrogen-dependent. Gene expression and protein secretion occur during late follicular development through early cleavage-stage embryonic development. The protein is secreted from non-ciliated oviductal epithelial cells and associates with ovulated oocytes, blastomeres, and spermatozoan acrosomal regions.
