The OSBPL7 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC063487) is a valuable tool for researchers studying OSBPL7, a protein involved in lipid metabolism and intracellular transport. This antibody, raised in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and is ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the OSBPL7 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it a key tool for studies in cell biology and lipid research.OSBPL7, also known as oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 7, plays a crucial role in regulating lipid transport and metabolism within cells.
Its functions in lipid homeostasis make it an important target for research in areas such as metabolic disorders, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative conditions. Understanding the role of OSBPL7 can provide valuable insights into these diseases and potential therapeutic strategies that target lipid metabolism pathways.
IHC image of PACO63487 diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human small intestine tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
Immunofluorescence staining of Hela cells with PACO63487 at 1:50, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).

NCBI Summary:
This gene encodes a member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, a group of intracellular lipid receptors. Like most members, the encoded protein contains an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a highly conserved C-terminal OSBP-like sterol-binding domain. Two transcript variants encoding the same isoform have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
