The OPTC Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16514) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the OPTC protein, a key player in oxidative stress response and cell protection mechanisms. This antibody, raised in rabbits, has been extensively validated for use in Western blot applications and is highly reactive with human samples.OPTC is known to be involved in various cellular processes, including antioxidant defense and detoxification pathways. Its role in protecting cells from oxidative damage makes it a promising target for research in oxidative stress-related diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and aging.
By detecting and analyzing OPTC protein levels in different cell types, this antibody allows for in-depth investigation into the mechanisms underlying its functions.Overall, the OPTC Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for studying the biological functions of OPTC and its implications in diseases related to oxidative stress. Researchers can use this antibody to further explore the potential therapeutic opportunities for targeting OPTC in the treatment of oxidative stress-related conditions.

Opticin belongs to class III of the small leucine-rich repeat protein (SLRP) family. Members of this family are typically associated with the extracellular matrix. Opticin is present in significant quantities in the vitreous of the eye and also localizes to the cornea, iris, ciliary body, optic nerve, choroid, retina, and fetal liver. Opticin may noncovalently bind collagen fibrils and regulate fibril morphology, spacing, and organization. The opticin gene is mapped to a region of chromosome 1 that is associated with the inherited eye diseases age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and posterior column ataxia with retinosa pigmentosa (AXPC1).
