The Oncostatin M Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6163) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of Oncostatin M in immune regulation and inflammation. Oncostatin M is a cytokine that plays a key role in various physiological processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and immune response modulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. It binds specifically to the Oncostatin M protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types.
This makes it an ideal choice for researchers in the fields of immunology and cancer research.By studying the function of Oncostatin M, researchers can gain valuable insights into how this cytokine contributes to the development and progression of diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions. Understanding the role of Oncostatin M in immune regulation can potentially lead to the development of novel therapies that target this pathway for the treatment of these diseases.

This gene encodes a member of the leukemia inhibitory factor/oncostatin-M (LIF/OSM) family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protein. This protein is a secreted cytokine and growth regulator that inhibits the proliferation of a number of tumor cell lines. This protein also regulates the production of other cytokines, including interleukin 6, granulocyte-colony stimulating factor and granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor in endothelial cells. This gene and the related gene, leukemia inhibitory factor, also present on chromosome 22, may have resulted from the duplication of a common ancestral gene. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes an isoform that is proteolytically processed.
