The OGG1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB4997) is a critical tool for researchers studying DNA repair mechanisms and oxidative damage. OGG1, a key enzyme involved in the base excision repair pathway, plays a crucial role in maintaining genomic integrity by repairing oxidative DNA damage caused by reactive oxygen species. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity in detecting OGG1 protein levels in various experimental settings.Validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications, the OGG1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody enables researchers to analyze OGG1 expression and localization in different cell types and tissues.
By targeting OGG1, researchers can gain insights into the cellular response to oxidative stress and DNA damage, making it a valuable tool for studies in cancer biology, neurodegenerative diseases, and aging research.Overall, the OGG1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody offers a reliable and accurate means to investigate the role of OGG1 in DNA repair pathways and its implications for human health and disease. Its versatility and high performance make it an essential component in scientific investigations focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying oxidative stress-induced DNA damage.

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 246-345 of human OGG1 (O15527).
This gene encodes the enzyme responsible for the excision of 8-oxoguanine, a mutagenic base byproduct which occurs as a result of exposure to reactive oxygen. The action of this enzyme includes lyase activity for chain cleavage. Alternative splicing of the C-terminal region of this gene classifies splice variants into two major groups, type 1 and type 2, depending on the last exon of the sequence. Type 1 alternative splice variants end with exon 7 and type 2 end with exon 8. All variants share the N-terminal region in common, which contains a mitochondrial targeting signal that is essential for mitochondrial localization. Many alternative splice variants for this gene have been described, but the full-length nature for every variant has not been determined.
