Description
NTSR2 Antibody (PACO03730)
The NTSR2 Polyclonal Antibody (PACO03730) is a valuable tool for researchers studying NTSR2, a protein involved in neuroimmune regulation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is optimized for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the NTSR2 protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze NTSR2 expression in various cell types, making it an excellent choice for investigations in neurobiology and immunology.
NTSR2, also known as neurotensin receptor type 2, plays a pivotal role in the modulation of neurotransmission and immune responses. Its involvement in both neural and immune functions highlights its potential impact on diseases such as neurological disorders and immune-related conditions. By studying NTSR2 activity, researchers may uncover novel therapeutic targets for addressing these complex diseases and furthering our understanding of neuroimmune interactions.

UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, multi-pass Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p25.1 Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane Molecular Function:G-protein coupled receptor activity; neurotensin receptor activity, G-protein coupled Biological Process: regulation of membrane potential; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; neuropeptide signaling pathway; sensory perception; G-protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating) |
NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor family that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Binding and pharmacological studies demonstrate that this receptor binds neurotensin as well as several other ligands already described for neurotensin NT1 receptor. However, unlike NT1 receptor, this gene recognizes, with high affinity, levocabastine, a histamine H1 receptor antagonist previously shown to compete with neurotensin for low-affinity binding sites in brain. These activities suggest that this receptor may be of physiological importance and that a natural agonist for the receptor may exist. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
