Description
NRG2 Antibody (PACO28650)
The NRG2 Antibody (PAC028650) is a highly specific and sensitive tool for studying Neuregulin 2 (NRG2), a critical protein involved in cell-to-cell communication and signaling in the brain. This polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbits and has been validated for use in various research applications, including Western blot analysis.NRG2 is known to play a key role in neural development, synaptic plasticity, and cognitive function, making it a crucial target for studies in neuroscience and neurobiology. By targeting NRG2 with this antibody, researchers can investigate the function and regulation of this important protein in normal brain function and disease states.
With its high reactivity and specificity for human samples, the NRG2 Antibody (PAC028650) is a valuable tool for researchers looking to deepen their understanding of NRG2 and its role in brain development, function, and disease. This antibody enables precise detection and analysis of NRG2 in various experimental settings, providing insights that can potentially lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for neurological disorders.

Background: | Direct ligand for ERBB3 and ERBB4 tyrosine kinase receptors. Concomitantly recruits ERBB1 and ERBB2 coreceptors, resulting in ligand-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of the ERBB receptors. May also promote the heterodimerization with the EGF receptor. |
Synonyms: | Pro-neuregulin-2, membrane-bound isoform (Pro-NRG2) [Cleaved into: Neuregulin-2 (NRG-2) (Divergent of neuregulin-1) (DON-1) (Neural- and thymus-derived activator for ERBB kinases) (NTAK)], NRG2, NTAK |
UniProt Protein Function: | NRG2: Direct ligand for ERBB3 and ERBB4 tyrosine kinase receptors. Concomitantly recruits ERBB1 and ERBB2 coreceptors, resulting in ligand-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of the ERBB receptors. May also promote the heterodimerization with the EGF receptor. Belongs to the neuregulin family. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a novel member of the neuregulin family of growth and differentiation factors. Through interaction with the ERBB family of receptors, this protein induces the growth and differentiation of epithelial, neuronal, glial, and other types of cells. The gene consists of 12 exons and the genomic structure is similar to that of neuregulin 1, another member of the neuregulin family of ligands. The products of these genes mediate distinct biological processes by acting at different sites in tissues and eliciting different biological responses in cells. This gene is located close to the region for demyelinating Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease locus, but is not responsible for this disease. Alternative transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010] |
