Description
NRG2 Antibody (PACO01927)
The NRG2 Polyclonal Antibody (PACO01927) is a valuable tool for researchers studying NRG2, a member of the neuregulin family of signaling proteins involved in various cellular processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the NRG2 protein, this antibody enables detection and analysis in a wide range of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in fields such as neuroscience, cancer research, and developmental biology.NRG2 is known to play a critical role in modulating cell growth, differentiation, and survival, making it a key player in the development and function of several tissues and organs.
Dysregulation of NRG2 signaling has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders, highlighting the importance of further research into its mechanisms of action. By studying NRG2 using this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the role of this protein in normal physiology and disease pathology, potentially paving the way for new therapeutic interventions.

UniProt Protein Function: | NRG2: Direct ligand for ERBB3 and ERBB4 tyrosine kinase receptors. Concomitantly recruits ERBB1 and ERBB2 coreceptors, resulting in ligand-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of the ERBB receptors. May also promote the heterodimerization with the EGF receptor. Belongs to the neuregulin family. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a novel member of the neuregulin family of growth and differentiation factors. Through interaction with the ERBB family of receptors, this protein induces the growth and differentiation of epithelial, neuronal, glial, and other types of cells. The gene consists of 12 exons and the genomic structure is similar to that of neuregulin 1, another member of the neuregulin family of ligands. The products of these genes mediate distinct biological processes by acting at different sites in tissues and eliciting different biological responses in cells. This gene is located close to the region for demyelinating Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease locus, but is not responsible for this disease. Alternative transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010] |
