The NR1I2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17038) is a valuable tool for research involving the NR1I2 gene, which encodes a nuclear receptor known to regulate the expression of drug-metabolizing enzymes and transporters. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the NR1I2 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of NR1I2 expression in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in drug metabolism, pharmacology, and toxicology.
NR1I2, also known as PXR (pregnane X receptor), plays a crucial role in the regulation of drug metabolism and detoxification pathways in the liver and intestine. Understanding the function of NR1I2 is essential for predicting drug interactions, optimizing drug dosing, and developing novel therapeutic strategies for various diseases. By targeting NR1I2 with this polyclonal antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into its role in drug metabolism and its potential as a therapeutic target for drug development.

This gene product belongs to the nuclear receptor superfamily, members of which are transcription factors characterized by a ligand-binding domain and a DNA-binding domain. The encoded protein is a transcriptional regulator of the cytochrome P450 gene CYP3A4, binding to the response element of the CYP3A4 promoter as a heterodimer with the 9-cis retinoic acid receptor RXR. It is activated by a range of compounds that induce CYP3A4, including dexamethasone and rifampicin. Several alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms, some of which use non-AUG (CUG) translation initiation codon, have been described for this gene. Additional transcript variants exist, however, they have not been fully characterized.
