The NR1H3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2141) is a versatile tool for researchers studying NR1H3, a nuclear receptor involved in the regulation of lipid and glucose metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the NR1H3 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of NR1H3 expression in various cell types, making it ideal for investigations in metabolic disorders and cardiovascular disease research.
NR1H3, also known as liver X receptor alpha (LXRα), is a key regulator of cholesterol homeostasis and inflammatory response in the body. Dysregulation of NR1H3 has been implicated in conditions such as atherosclerosis, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease, highlighting its importance as a therapeutic target. Understanding the mechanisms by which NR1H3 influences metabolism and inflammation is essential for developing novel treatments for these prevalent health issues.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the NR1 subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily. The NR1 family members are key regulators of macrophage function, controlling transcriptional programs involved in lipid homeostasis and inflammation. This protein is highly expressed in visceral organs, including liver, kidney and intestine. It forms a heterodimer with retinoid X receptor (RXR), and regulates expression of target genes containing retinoid response elements. Studies in mice lacking this gene suggest that it may play an important role in the regulation of cholesterol homeostasis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
