The NQO1 Polyclonal Antibody is a crucial tool for research involving NQO1, a key enzyme involved in antioxidant defense and cellular detoxification processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive with human samples, making it an ideal choice for studies in cancer, oxidative stress, and drug metabolism research.NQO1, also known as NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (quinone 1), plays a vital role in protecting cells from oxidative damage by reducing and detoxifying quinones and other reactive oxygen species. Its overexpression has been associated with resistance to chemotherapy in cancer cells, making it a promising target for developing new therapeutic strategies.
By targeting NQO1 with this antibody, researchers can detect and analyze the enzyme's expression levels in various cell types and tissues, providing valuable insights into its biological functions and potential therapeutic implications. With its proven effectiveness in Western blot applications, this antibody is a valuable tool for advancing our understanding of NQO1 biology and its implications in health and disease.

This gene is a member of the NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (quinone) family and encodes a cytoplasmic 2-electron reductase. This FAD-binding protein forms homodimers and reduces quinones to hydroquinones. This protein's enzymatic activity prevents the one electron reduction of quinones that results in the production of radical species. Mutations in this gene have been associated with tardive dyskinesia (TD), an increased risk of hematotoxicity after exposure to benzene, and susceptibility to various forms of cancer. Altered expression of this protein has been seen in many tumors and is also associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
