The NPPA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14755) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Natriuretic Peptide A (NPPA), a protein involved in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance in the body. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in various research applications, including Western blotting.NPPA, also known as Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP), is a hormone produced by the heart in response to elevated blood pressure. It plays a key role in the maintenance of cardiovascular homeostasis, promoting vasodilation and diuresis to reduce blood volume and pressure.
Dysregulation of NPPA has been implicated in conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, and kidney disease, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention.By utilizing the NPPA Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and measure NPPA levels in different biological samples, providing valuable insights into the role of this hormone in cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology. This antibody is a valuable tool for investigations into the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases and the development of novel treatments targeting NPPA signaling pathways.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the natriuretic peptide family. Natriuretic peptides are implicated in the control of extracellular fluid volume and electrolyte homeostasis. This protein is synthesized as a large precursor (containing a signal peptide), which is processed to release a peptide from the N-terminus with similarity to vasoactive peptide, cardiodilatin, and another peptide from the C-terminus with natriuretic-diuretic activity. Mutations in this gene have been associated with atrial fibrillation familial type 6. This gene is located adjacent to another member of the natriuretic family of peptides on chromosome 1.
