The NDUFA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8326) is a essential tool for researchers studying NDUFA1, a subunit of mitochondrial complex I. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. It specifically binds to the NDUFA1 protein, allowing for reliable detection and analysis in a variety of cell types.NDUFA1 is a crucial component of mitochondrial complex I, which plays a key role in oxidative phosphorylation and energy production in the cell. Dysregulation of complex I has been linked to various metabolic disorders and diseases, making it a valuable target for research in areas such as bioenergetics, mitochondrial dysfunction, and neurodegenerative diseases.
By utilizing the NDUFA1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can uncover new insights into the function and regulation of mitochondrial complex I, ultimately leading to a better understanding of its role in health and disease. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies in biochemistry, cell biology, and mitochondrial research.

The human NDUFA1 gene codes for an essential component of complex I of the respiratory chain, which transfers electrons from NADH to ubiquinone. It has been noted that the N-terminal hydrophobic domain has the potential to be folded into an alpha-helix spanning the inner mitochondrial membrane with a C-terminal hydrophilic domain interacting with globular subunits of complex I. The highly conserved two-domain structure suggests that this feature is critical for the protein function and might act as an anchor for the NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase complex at the inner mitochondrial membrane. However, the NDUFA1 peptide is one of about 31 components of the "hydrophobic protein" (HP) fraction of complex I which is involved in proton translocation. Thus the NDUFA1 peptide may also participate in that function.
