The NAT8B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7203) is a valuable tool for researchers studying NAT8B, a protein involved in various biological processes, including metabolism and the central nervous system. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the NAT8B protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in a variety of cell types.NAT8B, also known as N-acetyltransferase 8B, has been implicated in pathways related to kidney function, lipid metabolism, and neurotransmitter synthesis.
Research on NAT8B is particularly relevant in the fields of metabolism, neurobiology, and renal physiology, as alterations in NAT8B expression have been linked to metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and kidney dysfunction. Understanding the function of NAT8B is essential for developing therapies that target these diseases and conditions.Overall, the NAT8B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7203) is a reliable tool for investigating the role of NAT8B in various biological processes and diseases, offering valuable insights that could lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

This gene is highly similar to the N-acetyltransferase 8 (NAT8) gene which encodes a kidney and liver protein with homology to bacterial acetyltransferases involved in drug resistance. This gene is localized on chromosome 2 in the vicinity of the NAT8 gene and represents a human-specific transcribed pseudogene of NAT8. This gene contains two common polymorphic nonsense mutations that disrupt the active site of the protein. In the extremely rare event when both nonsense mutations are absent, the predicted protein would contain a complete acetyltransferase domain and would be identical in length to NAT8.
