Description
Myostatin Monoclonal Antibody (CPAB0730)
The Myostatin Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0730) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of myostatin, a protein involved in the regulation of muscle growth and maintenance. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to human myostatin and is validated for use in various research applications, including Western blotting.Myostatin, also known as growth differentiation factor 8 (GDF-8), is a negative regulator of muscle mass and plays a key role in controlling muscle growth and repair. Dysregulation of myostatin has been implicated in conditions such as muscle wasting diseases and sarcopenia.
By targeting myostatin with this antibody, researchers can investigate the mechanisms underlying muscle development and potential therapeutic strategies for muscle-related disorders. With its high reactivity and specificity, the Myostatin Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for advancing our understanding of muscle biology and exploring new avenues for the treatment of muscle-related diseases.

Background: | GDF8 is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily. This group of proteins is characterized by a polybasic proteolytic processing site which is cleaved to produce a mature protein containing seven conserved cysteine residues. The members of this family are regulators of cell growth and differentiation in both embryonic and adult tissues. This gene is thought to encode a secreted protein which negatively regulates skeletal muscle growth. |
