The Mylk Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8041) is a specialized research tool designed for the study of Mylk, a key protein involved in various cellular processes, particularly in muscle contraction and relaxation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and reactivity towards human samples, making it an ideal choice for experiments involving Mylk detection. With a validated application in Western blot analysis, this antibody binds specifically to the Mylk protein, allowing for precise and reliable detection in different cell types. Its versatility and reliability make it a valuable tool for researchers in the fields of muscle biology, cardiovascular health, and smooth muscle-related diseases.
Mylk, also known as myosin light chain kinase, plays a crucial role in regulating muscle contraction by phosphorylating myosin, a key component of the contractile apparatus. Dysregulation of Mylk activity has been linked to various muscle disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.By utilizing the Mylk Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8041), researchers can gain deeper insights into the function and regulation of Mylk in physiological and pathological contexts, paving the way for the development of innovative strategies for managing muscle-related conditions.

This gene, a muscle member of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily, encodes myosin light chain kinase which is a calcium/calmodulin dependent enzyme. This kinase phosphorylates myosin regulatory light chains to facilitate myosin interaction with actin filaments to produce contractile activity. This gene encodes both smooth muscle and nonmuscle isoforms. In addition, using a separate promoter in an intron in the 3' region, it encodes telokin, a small protein identical in sequence to the C-terminus of myosin light chain kinase, that is independently expressed in smooth muscle and functions to stabilize unphosphorylated myosin filaments. A pseudogene is located on the p arm of chromosome 3. Four transcript variants that produce four isoforms of the calcium/calmodulin dependent enzyme have been identified as well as two transcripts that produce two isoforms of telokin. Additional variants have been identified but lack full length transcripts.
