Description
MVK Monoclonal Antibody [PAT14F6A] (CPAB0175)
The MVK Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0175) is a crucial tool for research involving the mevalonate kinase (MVK) protein, a key enzyme in the mevalonate pathway essential for cholesterol biosynthesis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human MVK samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the MVK protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in lipid metabolism, cardiovascular disease, and other related research fields.MVK is a critical enzyme involved in the synthesis of isoprenoids, a class of molecules necessary for cellular functions such as membrane integrity, signaling, and protein prenylation. Dysregulation of the mevalonate pathway, including abnormalities in MVK activity, has been linked to various diseases, including mevalonate kinase deficiency (MKD) and hyperimmunoglobulinemia D syndrome (HIDS).
Research on MVK function and regulation is crucial for understanding these conditions and developing targeted therapeutic strategies for patients affected by them.By using the MVK Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0175) in your research, you can gain valuable insights into the role of MVK in health and disease, advancing our understanding of lipid metabolism and its impact on human health. Its specificity and reliability make it a valuable tool for researchers investigating the mevalonate pathway and its implications in various physiological and pathological processes

Background: | MVK is a member of the GHMP kinase family. Mevalonate is a vital mediator, and MVK an important early enzyme, in isoprenoid and sterol synthesis. MVK deficiency can result in gene mutation associated with Mevalonic aciduria, an illness which causes psychomotor retardation, failure to thrive hepatosplenomegaly, anemia and frequent febrile crises. Mutations in this gene also cause hyperimmunoglobulinaemia D and sporadic fever syndrome, in which the person suffers from recurrent episodes of fever related with lymphadenopathy, skin rash, gastrointestinal dismay and arthralgia. |
