The MSH6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16381) is a valuable tool for researchers studying MSH6, a protein involved in DNA mismatch repair. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the MSH6 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of MSH6 expression in various cell types.MSH6 is a key player in the DNA mismatch repair pathway, ensuring the fidelity of genetic information by correcting errors that arise during DNA replication. Mutations in MSH6 have been linked to several hereditary cancer syndromes, highlighting its importance in maintaining genomic stability.
Research focused on MSH6 can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression.Given its critical role in DNA repair pathways and its implications in cancer biology, the MSH6 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers exploring the molecular mechanisms of cancer and genetic disorders. By studying MSH6 expression and function, scientists can advance our understanding of disease pathogenesis and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for cancer treatment.

This gene encodes a member of the DNA mismatch repair MutS family. In E. coli, the MutS protein helps in the recognition of mismatched nucleotides prior to their repair. A highly conserved region of approximately 150 aa, called the Walker-A adenine nucleotide binding motif, exists in MutS homologs. The encoded protein heterodimerizes with MSH2 to form a mismatch recognition complex that functions as a bidirectional molecular switch that exchanges ADP and ATP as DNA mismatches are bound and dissociated. Mutations in this gene may be associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer, colorectal cancer, and endometrial cancer. Transcripts variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
