The MSH6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0983) is a valuable tool for research involving the MSH6 protein, an essential component of the DNA mismatch repair system. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically targeting the MSH6 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in genetics, oncology, and DNA repair mechanisms.MSH6 plays a key role in maintaining genomic stability by recognizing and repairing DNA mismatches during replication. Mutations in the MSH6 gene have been associated with Lynch syndrome, a hereditary cancer syndrome characterized by an increased risk of developing certain types of cancer.
Therefore, investigating the function and regulation of MSH6 is essential for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression.Overall, the MSH6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0983) offers researchers a reliable tool for studying the role of MSH6 in DNA repair processes, cancer biology, and genetic diseases. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a valuable asset for conducting experiments aimed at unraveling the complexities of DNA maintenance and its implications in human health.

This gene encodes a member of the DNA mismatch repair MutS family. In E. coli, the MutS protein helps in the recognition of mismatched nucleotides prior to their repair. A highly conserved region of approximately 150 aa, called the Walker-A adenine nucleotide binding motif, exists in MutS homologs. The encoded protein heterodimerizes with MSH2 to form a mismatch recognition complex that functions as a bidirectional molecular switch that exchanges ADP and ATP as DNA mismatches are bound and dissociated. Mutations in this gene may be associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer, colorectal cancer, and endometrial cancer. Transcripts variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
