The MRPS27 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB11667) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the MRPS27 protein, which is a mitochondrial ribosomal protein involved in protein synthesis within the mitochondria. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. The MRPS27 protein is essential for proper functioning of the mitochondrial ribosome and plays a key role in the translation of mitochondrial genes. Dysregulation of MRPS27 has been associated with mitochondrial dysfunction and may contribute to diseases such as cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.
By utilizing the MRPS27 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze MRPS27 protein levels in various cell types, aiding in the investigation of mitochondrial function and its impact on disease pathology. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies in mitochondrial biology, biochemistry, and disease research.

Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 28S subunit protein that may be a functional partner of the death associated protein 3 (DAP3). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
