The MRPS14 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15499) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the mitochondrial ribosomal protein S14 (MRPS14). This antibody is produced using rabbits and demonstrates high reactivity with human samples, making it a reliable option for a variety of research applications. It has been validated for use in Western blotting, allowing for the detection and analysis of the MRPS14 protein in different cell types.MRPS14 is a critical component of the mitochondrial ribosome and plays a key role in protein synthesis within the mitochondria. Dysregulation of MRPS14 has been associated with various diseases, including cancer and mitochondrial disorders.
By using the MRPS14 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can investigate the function and expression of MRPS14 in different disease contexts, providing valuable insights into potential therapeutic targets. With its specificity and sensitivity, the MRPS14 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for studies in molecular biology, cell biology, and mitochondrial research. By understanding the role of MRPS14 in cellular function and disease processes, researchers can advance knowledge in the field and potentially identify new avenues for therapeutic intervention.

Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 28S subunit protein that belongs to the ribosomal protein S14P family. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
