Description
MRPL9 Antibody (PACO01105)
The MRPL9 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC01105) is a valuable tool for research involving MRPL9, a key protein involved in mitochondrial ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is validated for use in various applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.MRPL9 is essential for the proper functioning of mitochondria, the energy-producing organelles in cells, making it a crucial player in cellular metabolism and overall cell health. Dysregulation of MRPL9 has been linked to mitochondrial dysfunction, which is associated with a range of diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic disorders.
By targeting MRPL9, researchers can gain insights into mitochondrial function and its role in disease pathogenesis. This antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool to study the expression and localization of MRPL9 in different cell types and tissues, facilitating investigations into its function and potential therapeutic implications. By understanding the role of MRPL9 in cellular physiology, researchers can uncover new strategies for targeting mitochondria-related diseases and advancing personalized medicine approaches.

UniProt Protein Function: | MRPL9: a mitochondrial ribosomal protein encoded by a nuclear gene that helps in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein. A pseudogene corresponding to this gene is found at 8q21.11. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |

NCBI Summary: | This is a nuclear gene encoding a protein component of the 39S subunit of the mitochondrial ribosome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 8. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014] |
