The MRPL39 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10023) is a crucial tool for researchers studying MRPL39, a mitochondrial ribosomal protein implicated in protein synthesis within mitochondria. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the MRPL39 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it indispensable for studies in molecular biology and mitochondrial research.MRPL39 plays a crucial role in the formation of mitochondrial ribosomes and the translation of mitochondrial genes, making it a key player in mitochondrial protein synthesis.
Understanding the function and regulation of MRPL39 is essential for uncovering the molecular mechanisms underlying mitochondrial protein synthesis and its implications in mitochondrial diseases and metabolic disorders. The MRPL39 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers seeking to explore the intricate workings of mitochondria and the role of MRPL39 in cellular physiology.

Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. A pseudogene corresponding to this gene is found on chromosome 5q.
