The MRPL17 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15603) is a valuable tool for research involving MRPL17, a protein component of the mitochondrial ribosome. The antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive with human samples, making it suitable for use in various experimental techniques such as Western blotting.MRPL17 plays a crucial role in mitochondrial protein synthesis and the functioning of the mitochondrial ribosome. Dysregulation of MRPL17 has been associated with mitochondrial dysfunction and diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic conditions.
Therefore, studying the expression and activity of MRPL17 can provide insights into these diseases and potentially lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting mitochondrial function. The MRPL17 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for researchers interested in investigating the role of MRPL17 in mitochondrial biology and disease pathogenesis. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for studies aiming to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying mitochondrial dysfunction and its implications in various health conditions.

Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein.
