Description
MRPL14 Antibody (PACO28338)
The MRPL14 Polyclonal Antibody (PACO28338) is a vital tool for researchers studying MRPL14, a mitochondrial ribosomal protein involved in protein synthesis within the mitochondria. This antibody, developed in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and has been rigorously tested for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the MRPL14 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of MRPL14 in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component for research in the fields of molecular biology and mitochondrial function.
MRPL14 is a key player in mitochondrial ribosome biogenesis and function, making it a target of interest in studies related to mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic diseases, and aging. By elucidating the roles and mechanisms of MRPL14, researchers can gain valuable insights into the molecular processes governing mitochondrial protein synthesis and its impact on cellular health. This antibody serves as a valuable tool for advancing our understanding of MRPL14 and its implications in various physiological and pathological conditions.

NCBI Summary: | Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein. A pseudogene corresponding to this gene is found at 17p13.3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
