The MRPL13 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5979) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the mitochondrial ribosomal protein L13 (MRPL13), a key component of the mitochondrial ribosome complex. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications. By binding to MRPL13, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of MRPL13 expression in a variety of cell types.MRPL13 is essential for protein synthesis within the mitochondria, making it a crucial player in cellular energy production and overall mitochondrial function. Research into MRPL13 is important for understanding mitochondrial dysfunction in diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic diseases.
By studying the role of MRPL13, researchers can gain insight into potential therapeutic targets for these conditions.Overall, the MRPL13 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers interested in unraveling the complexities of mitochondrial function and its impact on human health. Its high specificity and reliability make it an ideal choice for studies aiming to elucidate the role of MRPL13 in various cellular processes and disease states.

Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein.
