The MRPL12 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8318) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the mitochondrial ribosomal protein L12 (MRPL12). This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the MRPL12 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in the fields of molecular biology and biochemistry.MRPL12 is a critical component of the mitochondrial ribosome, playing a key role in protein synthesis within this organelle. Dysregulation of MRPL12 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and mitochondrial disorders.
Therefore, understanding the functions and interactions of MRPL12 is essential for advancing our knowledge of these conditions and developing targeted therapies.By using the MRPL12 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8318), researchers can gain valuable insights into the biological functions of MRPL12 and its roles in disease pathology. This antibody provides a reliable tool for investigating the complex mechanisms underlying mitochondrial protein synthesis, offering new opportunities for exploring therapeutic interventions in related disorders.

Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein which forms homodimers. In prokaryotic ribosomes, two L7/L12 dimers and one L10 protein form the L8 protein complex.
