The MRP4 (ABCC4) Polyclonal Antibody is a crucial tool for researchers studying the role of the MRP4 protein in various biological processes. MRP4, a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) family of transporters, is involved in the transport of a wide range of molecules across cell membranes. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting MRP4 in human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications.MRP4 has been implicated in drug resistance in cancer cells, as well as in the regulation of intracellular levels of signaling molecules and toxins.
By targeting MRP4 with this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these processes and explore potential therapeutic strategies for overcoming drug resistance in cancer treatment. Furthermore, the ability to detect MRP4 in various cell types allows for a comprehensive analysis of its role in normal physiology and disease pathology, offering new avenues for drug discovery and development.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MRP subfamily which is involved in multi-drug resistance. This family member plays a role in cellular detoxification as a pump for its substrate, organic anions. It may also function in prostaglandin-mediated cAMP signaling in ciliogenesis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.
