The Mouse Ly6A/E (Sca-1) Monoclonal Antibody (FITC Conjugated) is a valuable tool for research involving the Ly6A/E antigen, also known as Sca-1, a marker of stem and progenitor cells in mice. This monoclonal antibody, designated as D7-AGEL2002, is specifically engineered for use in flow cytometry applications, enabling precise identification and characterization of Sca-1-expressing cells.Sca-1, a member of the Ly6 gene family, is widely used as a marker for various cell populations, including hematopoietic stem cells, endothelial progenitor cells, and mesenchymal stem cells. Its role in cell differentiation, proliferation, and self-renewal makes it a crucial target for stem cell research, regenerative medicine, and developmental biology studies.
With its FITC conjugation, this monoclonal antibody offers enhanced fluorescence detection capabilities, allowing researchers to easily visualize and quantify Sca-1 expression in different cell types and tissues. Its high specificity and sensitivity ensure reliable and reproducible results, making it an essential tool for scientists investigating stem cell biology, tissue regeneration, and immune cell dynamics in murine models.By utilizing the Mouse Ly6A/E (Sca-1) Monoclonal Antibody (FITC Conjugated), researchers can gain valuable insights into the functional properties and behavior of Sca-1-positive cells, advancing our understanding of stem cell biology and potentially unlocking new therapeutic strategies for a range of medical conditions.

Background:
Ly-6A/E, also known as Sca-1, is an 18 kD member of the Ly-6 multigene family. Ly6A/E is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked protein expressed on hematopoietic stem cells. In mice expressing the Ly-6.2 haplotype (e.g., AKR, C57BL, C57BR, DBA/2, SJL, SWR, and 129), Ly-6A/E is also expressed on peripheral B lymphocytes and thymic and peripheral T lymphocytes. Strains expressing the Ly-6.1 haplotype (e.g., BALB/c, CBA, C3H/He, DBA/1, and NZB) have low Ly-6A/E expression on resting peripheral lymphocytes. The expression of Ly-6A/E on lymphocytes is upregulated upon activation from both Ly6.1 and Ly6.2 haplotype mice. Ly-6A/E is thought to be involved in the regulation of both T and B cell responses.
