Interferon Alpha And Beta Receptor, alsoknown IFNAR1, belongs to the class II cytokine receptor family. IFNAR1protein forms one of the two chains of a receptor for interferons alpha as wellas beta. IFNAR1 binds and activates the receptor which stimulates Janus proteinkinases, which in turn phosphorylate some proteins, including STAT1 & STAT2.Furthermore, IFNAR1 also functions as an antiviral factor.
IFNAR1 Mouse Recombinant produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 411 amino acids (27-429a.a) and having a molecular mass of 46.8kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 40-57kDa).IFNAR1 is fused to an 8 amino acid His-tag at C-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | IFNAR1: receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Belongs to the type II cytokine family of receptors. Binding to type I IFNs triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of a number of proteins including JAKs, TYK2, STAT proteins and IFNR alpha- and beta-subunits themselves. Tyk2 tyrosine kinase is essential for stable cell surface expression of IFNAR1. Present in all tissues and even on the surface of most IFN-resistant cells. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, cytokineChromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16 C3.3|16 52.98 cMCellular Component: integral to plasma membraneMolecular Function: interferon receptor activity; interferon-alpha/beta binding; interferon-alpha/beta receptor activityBiological Process: defense response to virus; interferon type I biosynthetic process; positive regulation of interferon-beta production; positive regulation of interferon-gamma production; positive regulation of interleukin-1 beta secretion; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; regulation of peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; response to lipopolysaccharide; T cell activation |
