The Mouse F4/80 Monoclonal Antibody (AF647 conjugated, clone: CI:A3-1, AGEL0575) is a powerful tool for immunological research, particularly in the study of macrophages and their activation states. This antibody recognizes the F4/80 protein, a well-established marker for mature tissue-resident macrophages in mice, and is conjugated to the AF647 fluorophore for enhanced detection.Macrophages, key players in the immune system, exhibit diverse functions depending on their activation state. The F4/80 antibody allows for the detection and characterization of macrophages in tissue samples, providing valuable insights into their roles in inflammation, tissue repair, and immune responses.
With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody is essential for dissecting the complex functions of macrophages in various physiological and pathological conditions.Whether investigating the dynamics of macrophage populations in disease progression, evaluating immune responses in experimental models, or exploring novel therapeutic targets in immunology, the Mouse F4/80 Monoclonal Antibody (AF647 conjugated, clone: CI:A3-1, AGEL0575) is a reliable reagent for precise and accurate immunofluorescence studies. Enhance your research capabilities with this cutting-edge antibody and unravel the mysteries of macrophage biology.

Background:
F4/80 is a 160 kD glycoprotein. It is characterized as a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF)-transmembrane 7 (TM7) family. F4/80, also known as EMR1 or Ly71, has been widely used as a murine macrophage marker, which is expressed on the majority of tissue macrophages including peritoneal macrophages, macrophages in lung, gut, thymus and red pulp of spleen (but not on the macrophages located in T cell areas of the spleen, lymph node and Peyer's patch), Kuffer cells, Langerhans cells, and bone marrow stromal cells. F4/80 has also been shown on a subset of dendritic cells. The biological ligand of F4/80 has not been identified, but it has been reported that F4/80 is required for induction of CD8+ T cells-mediated peripheral tolerance.
