The Mouse CD80 Monoclonal Antibody (PERCP-Cyanine5.5 Conjugated, 16-10A1) is a powerful tool for researchers studying immune responses and cell communication. This antibody, available from AssayGenie, specifically targets CD80, a key protein involved in T cell activation and immune regulation. With its PERCP-Cyanine5.5 conjugation, this antibody offers excellent signal detection and is ideal for flow cytometry applications. The 16-10A1 clone ensures high specificity and sensitivity, providing reliable and reproducible results in experiments using mouse samples.CD80, also known as B7-1, is a critical co-stimulatory molecule that plays a crucial role in the activation of T cells and antigen-presenting cell interactions.
By targeting CD80 with this monoclonal antibody, researchers can investigate the dynamics of immune responses, explore T cell activation pathways, and study the regulation of immune checkpoints. This CD80 monoclonal antibody is a valuable tool for studies in immunology, cancer research, and autoimmune diseases. Its exceptional performance, combined with its specific targeting of CD80, makes it an essential reagent for scientists seeking to unravel the complexities of immune system function and develop novel therapeutic strategies.

Background:
CD80 is a 60 kD highly glycosylated protein. It is a member of the Ig superfamily and is also known as B7-1, B7, and Ly-53. CD80 is constitutively expressed on dendritic cells and monocytes/macrophages, and inducibly expressed on activated B and T cells. The ligation of CD28 on T cells with CD80 and CD86 (B7-2) on antigen presenting cells (such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells) elicits co-stimulation of T cells resulting in enhanced cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine production. CD80 appears to be expressed later in the immune response than CD86. CD80 can also bind to CD152, also known as CTLA-4, to deliver an inhibitory signal to T cells.
